Freedom Honor Flight Expands

Freedom Honor Flight has expanded its service to serve Rochester, Minnesota area veterans.  Freedom Honor Flight previously shared part of its service area with a Rochester-based hub, which is no longer operating.

Freedom Honor Flight provides this trip free to veterans as a tribute for their service.  A trip which is beyond the reach of many veterans due to cost and physical limitations. World War II, Korea and veterans with a terminal illness have priority status for this year’s flights.  Officials estimate that in the 25 counties the hub now serves, there remain more than 5,000 World War II veterans who haven’t yet participated in an Honor Flight.  The group encourages them to apply.  The next flight is set for September 21, 2013.

Please contact Deane Benson at 507-467-3650 or the Legion at (507)467-3440 for details.
